HOUSE RULES of Home Made HOSTEL

All guests and visitors of Home Made Hostel are kindly asked to follow the rules presented below.

SECURITY

• The hostel provides 24 hour reception.
  
• There is no curfew.
  
• For the main entrance downstairs, no code is provided. If you find the main gate closed (normally after 18:00), use the buzzer.
  
• A code to be handed out during check-in is provided for the entrance door upstairs. The code is changed frequently for safety reasons.
  
• Room keys, main door keys and locker keys are also provided on request free of charge. A deposit of 10 euro or 2,000 HUF is to be collected during check-in for the locker key and the main entrance key. In case you lose the locker key, the deposit will not be returned. As for the room key, the last person to leave the room locks the room and leaves it at the reception.
  
• The hostel is not responsible for any personal injuries or loss and/or damage of non-deposited valuables.
  

NOISE POLICY

• Please be quiet between 22:00 and 07:00 at the whole of the hostel.
  
• Neighbour policy requires us to stay quiet on the terrace after 20:00. It also not allowed to stay on the terrace after 22:00. Please also make sure you are quiet in the whole of the building after 20:00 and in the whole of the hostel after 22:00. Use the common room for chatting and if you wish to party, ask the staff to recommend you pubs and bars.
  
• Pay attention to guests who wish to go to bed earlier. You are welcome to socialize in the common room.
  
• Do not use the TV and / or DVD after 22:00 or if somebody wants to sleep in the room.
  
• It is O.K. to have visitors in the hostel but please inform the receptionist in advance. Note that visitors will be asked to leave the hostel at 23:00.
  
• Please do not use the internet between 03:00 and 07:00 am.
  

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION POLICY

• We do not accept credit cards only cash (Hungarian forint or euro).
  
• Payment is to be made upon your arrival or on the same day of your arrival.
  
• If you want to extend your stay, please notify us at least one day in advance and make payment for your extra night(s) on the same day.
  
• If you wish to cancel or stay less than you booked, notify us 24 hours in advance otherwise we will not be able to refund you.
  
• Guests who have not checked in and have not paid for their stay are not allowed to sleep anywhere at the hostel.
  
• We provide laundry service for 5 euros or 1,500 HUF. If you want to have your laundry done, please inform the staff and make payment. Do not use the washing machine and the dryer.
  

FIRE REGULATIONS

• Smoking is not allowed in any premises of the hostel. You can smoke outside on the terrace or the corridor.
  
• It is dangerous and therefore forbidden to light fire inside the rooms.
  
• The use of electric heating devices and cookers in rooms is not allowed for fire safety reasons.
  
• Do not touch the heaters inside the rooms please. If you want to turn up or down the heater, please inform staff.
  
• Do not cover heaters with clothes, towels and bedlinen.
  
• Do not cover reading lamps and spot lamps with clothes, towels and bedlinen.
  

CLEANING AND CLEANLINESS POLICY

• Check-out time is 11:00. You do not need to leave the hostel, but leave your beds free to be prepared for the next guest. You can store your luggage on the shelves in the kitchen.
  
• Cleaning time of the rooms is between 11:00 and 15:00 every day. Make sure that your belongings are not scattered around.
  
• Do not use your own sleeping bags in the hostel, we will provide you with clean bed linen free of charge. For stays longer than 3 nights, your bed-linen will be changed.
  
• Do not bring food and drink in the dorms.
  
• Guest kitchen is to be used only by guests staying at the hostel. All food stored in the fridge must be marked with your name and date of departure. For public health reasons, all non-marked food and any food passing the expiry date will be thrown away.
  
• Please try to keep clean all the common rooms/areas (common room, TV corner, kitchen, terrace) after use to help us to maintain cleanliness at the hostel this way.
  
• Use an ashtray if you smoke outside.
  
• No pets or other animals are allowed at the hostel
  

LEGAL AND ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES

• Storage of alcohol in the rooms, possession and use of drugs and possession of weapons is strictly prohibited. The hostel management may confiscate the goods in question and notify the police if this rule is not followed.
  

ENERGY POLICY

• For economical reasons, please shut the lights off when you leave the room. Also, please avoid long showers.
  

The hostel will claim compensation for the caused damages and for the lost of the income because of the damages. Please note that you will be asked to leave the hostel if you seriously and continuously break the hostel house rules.
